My Experience in the Model UN

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be an ambassador? Are you interested in improving your public speaking and negotiation skills?  The Model United Nations offers all that and much more!  The University of Haifa has one of the first and best Model United Nations in Israel, offering the students who join the chance to develop and improve a lot of skills that could be very useful in a professional environment.

You might be asking, “What’s a Model UN?”

The Model UN is a simulation where students role-play UN delegates and it’s more than just a class. It is an opportunity to change the world. By stepping into the shoes of UN delegates representing their countries’ interests to the global community, Model UN participants build the knowledge, skills and relationships needed to build a better global future.haifamunalex

If you’re interested in international relations, diplomacy or politics in general, the Model UN is a great way to combine the theory with practice and get a sense of things operate within the United Nations.  Just as a bonus, you can also improve improve your acting talents!

The Model UN will help you become a great public speaker by putting you into situations where you’ll have to speak to big groups of people at national and international conferences. Beyond learning new skills with the Model UN, you will also have the chance to meet and network with people from all around the world.

The University of Haifa Model UN class is a great way for students to learn by doing, by having each class to tackle important international issues and use outside the box thinking to bring innovative solutions.

Beyond the skills you learn, drafting of papers and multicultural environment, the Model UN offers one great thing… a lot of fun! So if you ever have to chance to join Model UN, don’t pass it up!


Students in the International MA Program in Diplomacy Studies and National Security Studies can participate in the Model UN as an elective course during their studies at the University of Haifa.
