Over the course of the summer, visiting students studied alongside Israelis, sharing the classroom experience, sharing ideas, and learning from one another. This program provided a special opportunity for faculty and students from different parts of the world to come together to explore and exchange best practices in health care, and also develop relationships internationally to start a on-going conversation to improve health care worldwide.
While in Israel, international students had the chance to participate in internships in which they were be paired with other students to work on specific projects at local hospitals and clinics. The program also organized cultural trips to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Akko, Nahariya, Bet Shan, Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee, Megiddo, and Rosh Hanikra.
At the completion of the program, students acquired new skills in leadership and new knowledge of health care delivery, as well as new partnerships that they can use as they progress in their future careers. Students received credits from either the University of Haifa or the University of Georgia, two internationally recognized universities, that may be applied to their home universities. They receive a certificate of completion of the program.
